Karen D. Webster
Karen D. Webster was a judge for Division II of the Shelby County Probate Court in Tennessee. She assumed office on September 1, 2006. She left office on September 1, 2022.
Webster ran for re-election for the Division II judge of the Shelby County Probate Court in Tennessee. She lost in the general election on August 4, 2022.
Biography
Education
Webster received her undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 1981 and her J.D. degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law at Knoxville in 1985.[1]
Career
Webster began her career in 1985 as an assistant city attorney and city prosecutor in Memphis, Tennessee. After seven years in that capacity, she was appointed chief prosecutor. Webster held that position for another seven years. In 2000, Webster became an assistant county attorney-assistant contract administrator for the Shelby County Government, where she worked for three years. She then worked as an attorney in private practice prior to her judicial election in 2006.
Early in her legal career, Webster was also employed as a part-time academic support instructor at the University of Memphis, as a business tax auditor for the IRS, and as an affiliate broker for a realty agency.[1]
