2011

Comery ran for an open seat on the York County Court of Common Pleas. She was defeated by Craig Trebilcock and Andrea Marceca Strong in both parties' primaries on May 17. She received 10.9 percent in the Democratic primary and 7.6 percent of the vote in the Republican primary. All candidates running for the seat were cross-endorsed by the Republican and Democratic parties.[2]

Campaign statements

Comery said that as a prosecutor she has a "relevant (court) experience and genuine results," having participated in more than 100 jury trials.[3]

She said she would be a judge who "sits back and acts as a referee and lets the attorneys do their jobs."[3]

Education

Comery earned an associate degree from Central Pennsylvania College, a bachelor's degree from York College of Pennsylvania and a J.D. from Widener University School of Law.[4]

Career

Comery runs her own law practice. She is also an adjunct professor at Central Pennsylvania College. Comery previously worked at the York County District Attorney’s Office for 11 years. During her time there, she was an assistant district attorney, senior deputy prosecutor, primary legal advisor to the Drug Task Force and Quick Response Team, and chief deputy of Litigation.[4]
