Karen Johnson (Democratic Party) is the Davidson County Register of Deeds in Tennessee. She assumed office in 2018. Her current term ends on September 1, 2026.

Johnson is a former member of the Nashville Metro Council in Tennessee, representing District 29 from 2011 to 2018.
Biography
Johnson earned a bachelor's degree in business from Tennessee State University. She earned an MBA from Trevecca Nazarene University. Johnson's career experience includes working in human resources with Mercy Health Services, in human resources management with the State of Tennessee, Hospital Corporation of America, and Shoney's Inc. On May 17, 2019, Johnson was designated as a certified public administrator with the University of Tennessee Institute for Public Service CTAS.[1] On January 10, 2022, Johnson was designated as a certified public manager with the Tennessee Certified Public Manager (CPM), which is accredited by the National Certified Public Manager Consortium.[2]

The city of Nashville, Tennessee, held nonpartisan elections for mayor and metro council on August 6, 2015. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was May 21, 2015. All 41 metro council seats—including the office of vice mayor—were up for election. In District 29, incumbent Karen Y. Johnson defeated Vicky Tataryn.[3][4]
