Karen Lynn O'Malley (Democratic Party) is a judge of the Cook County Circuit Court in Illinois. Her current term ends on December 2, 2030.
O'Malley ran for re-election for judge of the Cook County Circuit Court in Illinois. She won in the retention election on November 5, 2024.
Biography
Karen Lynn O'Malley received her B.A. degree from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana in 1985 and her J.D. degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1992.[1]
O'Malley's career experience includes the following:
- 2012-present Judge, Cook Judicial Circuit Court
- 2008-2012 Senior Associate, Levin Riback Law Group, P.C.
- 1992-2008 Assistant State's Attorney, Cook County
O'Malley has taught at the DePaul University College of Law, the University of Illinois at Chicago and Northwestern University School of Law.[1]

O'Malley was elected without opposition on Nov. 6, 2012. She ran in the Democratic primary on March 20, 2012 to replace Claudia Conlon. She received 47.71% of the vote in the primary, ousting incumbent Judge Stanley L. Hill.[2][3][4]
