I’m a 3rd generation South Dakotan, born and raised a Kulpaca in Rapid City and educated in the local school system—Jefferson elementary, South Junior High and Central High. I graduated from the SD School of Mines and Technology with a BS And MS in Chemistry. I was recruited by Shell and spent my 30+ year career working for Shell Chemical and Kraton Polymers where I managed a $100M business and led a team of scientists and engineers, negotiated global contracts and traveled extensively domestically and internationally. I took some time off when my boys were young to volunteer as a Scout leader, den leader coach, swim team and soccer mom. I was elected as PTA president and served two years and led a group of parents in creating enrichment programs for children to instill critical thinking: Discovery Science, Art Masterpiece and Jr Great books to name a few and we won outstanding PTA both years. I also played organ and piano at my church both in Rapid City as a teen and later in Kingwood as an adult for Mass and numerous weddings and funerals. I lost my beloved husband to glioblastoma caused by Agent Orange exposure during the Vietnam war in 2019. I relocated permanently back to SD in 2021 and purchased my parents’ home. I am running for the state senate because I care about our children, our freedoms, our property rights and taxation. I will be a servant hearted leader who listens to the people.
  • Children—we need to protect our children from dangerous, harmful content on the internet. I will champion safeguards and laws to protect them. Children deserve the best education in a safe, clean and positive learning environment—be it public, private or homeschool. Parents know best and should have choices for their children.
  • Freedom. The US Constitution and our Bill of Rights have served our country for well over 200 years. I will protect our rights from government overreach.
  • Property rights—I believe the government has no business declaring eminent domain on private property without the landowners consent for private, out of state, for profit companies to build pipelines across private property for financial gain.
Jesus Christ, he showed us how to live ams treat each other with kindness and respect.
Honesty and integrity

Tell the truth, explain to voters your rationale behind your votes
Listen to the thoughts, opinions and feedback from your constituents.

Understand that you are there on their behalf, not lobbyists who are not your constituents.
That I love children and want to protect them as they are our future
Bus girl at a local restaurant in high school—two years
Loss of my dear husband but I move forward to honor his memory
No, I think this can be a detriment as they get entrenched in one way of thinking
Yes because you need to learn to work together for the good of the citizens of the state.
Yes a tearful response from a voter who is elderly, has no mortgage but thinks they may have to sell their home because they cannot afford their property taxes—where are they going to go?
No because this can become a very dangerous precedent.
Age verification to protect children from porn on the internet
Technology, education, science
Of course we need transparency so voters can see what we are spending their hard earned money on
I like the fact that citizens can initiate a ballot initiative process when the legislature gets it wrong, case in point SB201 goes against the will of the people so it is positive that citizens can band together, get the required signatures and place the initiative on the ballot for voters to decide.
