Karen Williams has more than 14 years of experience in criminal and civil law, and practicing in district and federal courts. She is licensed to practice law in Texas and in Illinois. Her experience spans from representing poor individuals to corporate clientele; managing attorneys to non-legal personnel; and serving on the Boards of several non-profit organizations, such as the NAACP and the Salvation Army. These experiences are pertinent not only to her plans to hear court cases as a judge, but also to the additional judicial responsibilities that include managing courtroom processes and court personnel, and in being a beneficial contributor to courthouse leadership. She has worked for the Public Defender's Office, the Domestic Violence Clinic, Prairie State Legal Services, and in private practice.

Karen's background includes the type of diversity that will serve the people of Tarrant County well. She has fought for people from all different walks of life, having a unique ability to communicate the law in practical ways that help people to make or honor decisions, while still feeling understood and respected.

Karen believes in honoring the law and in serving the people. She is not afraid to take on challenges, and she believes in doing what is right.

Karen is a graduate of DePaul University College of Law in Chicago. She also has a Master's degree in Business Administration, and her Bachelor's degree is in Mass Communication and Journalism.
