Kari Kristiansen
Kari Cecilie Kristiansen is a judge of the Alaska Third District Superior Court. Her current term ends in 2029.
Kristiansen ran for re-election for judge of the Alaska Third District Superior Court. She won in the retention election on November 8, 2022.
Kristiansen was appointed on November 17, 2006, by Gov. Frank Murkowski (R).
Education
Judge Kristiansen attended Northwestern University to earn her Bachelor of Science in engineering in 1986 and Willamette University for her J.D. in 1989.[1][2]
Career
- 2006-Present: Judge, Palmer Superior Court in the Third Judicial District
- 1999-2006: She worked for the State of Alaska, Department of Law, specializing in construction, public housing law, contracts, tort defense,collections, and child in need of aid law.
- 1997-1999: She worked for Guess & Rudd P.C. specializing in insurance defense, real estate and construction law, personal injury and nonprofit organizations.
- 1989-1996: She worked in criminal law in the City and County of Honolulu, Department of the Prosecuting Attorney in Hawaii.
- 1988: She was a Law Clerk for Krassa, Lindhom, Madsen and Kumli in Colorado.
- 1987: She was a Law Clerk for the Bonneville Power Administration in Oregon.[2]

Kristiansen was retained in 2010.[3] The Alaska Judicial Council supported her retention.[4][5] She is up for retention again in 2016.
