Biography
Karina Lipsman earned a bachelor's degree from Towson University in 2009 and a graduate degree from Johns Hopkins University in 2012.[1]

My mother played the role of both parents, while working as a seamstress to make ends meet and attending community college in the evenings to learn English and earn her bookkeeping certificate. Life was not easy but I learned from an early age the meaning of perseverance and hard work. I knew that because of my mother’s sacrifices, I had the opportunity to make something of myself. I started working at the age of 14 at a local bagel shop and I’ve worked ever since.
I am running for Congress because I want to bring change to our country and our district. Northern Virginia needs a Representative who engages with them, represents their interests, and puts solutions before partisan politics. I sincerely believe that we must work together to overcome the gridlock on the critical issues that are facing our country.
- As product of the public school system, I will not support the lowering of educational standards in our schools for the sake of politics. We need higher educational standards that prepare our children for a rapidly changing world.
- Too often, our discussion on immigration is focused on who comes in and who doesn’t, but very little on what happens after they have arrived. The integration of immigrants into our society strengthens America. So instead of encouraging illegal immigration and taking on additional burden on our border, we need to invest in programs that enables immigrants to integrate and become contributing members of our society.
- The police contribute to the elimination of a myriad of threats in American society including theft, violence, drugs, and domestic abuse. Without their intervention, the American people would not have the appropriate resources to effectively maneuver these life-threatening situations. There are undoubtedly serious, but rare, instances of police brutality, racial bias, and the use of excessive force by the police. However, the solution lies not in withholding funding, but instead in the provision of greater resources that can only be unlocked by suitable financing.
I will not go to Congress to play partisan politics. Northern Virginia needs a Representative who engages with them, represents their interests and puts solutions before partisan politics.

ECONOMY I will staunchly oppose any measures that seek to increase taxes, I will work to get our inflation under control, stop wasteful government spending and bring high-paying jobs back to the U.S. In Biden's America, inflation is the highest it's been in 40 years. The cost of fuel, groceries, utilities, and everyday goods are through the roof. As your Congresswoman I will get our economy back on track. I am the only candidate (as of April 2022) to sign the Taxpayer Protection Pledge, which is my promise to the people of Northern Virginia I will never raise your taxes. Our government is addicted to debt. We must get spending under control, but first, we must cut off the stream of taxpayer money going to the federal government, and that starts with not raising taxes and then reforming social spending programs. The outsourcing of the manufacturing of goods has to end! I will work with domestic manufacturers, union and non-union, to develop smart, pro-growth tax policies that will ensure we do everything to make products here in America.
Parents must have transparency into their child's education, what happens in the hallways and what is being taught in the classroom. I will fight to make sure the rights of parents are upheld. Education is the great equalizer and can lift people out of poverty. As a product of public schools, I understand the value of education and the opportunities a quality education provides, especially for immigrants. Quality education is critical to our children's development and future. Parents must have transparency into their child's education, what happens in the hallways and what is being taught in the classroom. I will fight to make sure the rights of parents are upheld. I believe in school choice and will never support lowering educational standards for partisan politics. I also realize every educational journey is unique. Some skills are learned outside the classroom. A four-year degree may not suit every student or their career aspirations and should not be a prerequisite for employment in this Country. As your Congresswoman, I will champion community colleges, technical schools, and vocational training programs to ensure students are empowered to choose a path that fits their unique needs. I will always protect parental rights to choose schools based on what is best for their children's needs, including public, private, parochial, charter schools, and homeschooling.
Defunding the police only hurts our community. I will always support measures that strengthen our law enforcement agencies and improve their effectiveness. During the Biden Administration, crime is on the rise in our schools, on our streets, and in our communities. This must come to an end! As your Congresswoman, I will support legislation that ensures law enforcement has the tools they need to perform their jobs. We also can not allow crime to be tiered based on the value of what is stolen or damaged. Theft is theft, and if we give criminals an inch they will take a mile.[2] |
