My name is Karl Stecher, and I am running for State Senate District 28. I am a retired neurosurgeon, avid birdwatcher, and proud grandfather. I have lived in the great state of Colorado for 47 years, and have decided to run for office out of concern regarding the damage that liberal policies can, and have, inflicted on our small businesses, education, and freedom of speech. I believe that the citizens of District 28 have a great deal in common. We want the best for our environment. We want equal laws and regulations regardless of gender, race, or political affiliation. We want the economy to prosper and our small businesses to do well. I believe we all share the desire for a representative that does more than grandstand and vote solely along party lines, who actively listens to the voices of their constituents, which I plan to do if elected.
I am deeply invested in the preservation of the environment. As a birdwatcher, I am appreciative of the vast diversity of birds and other wildlife in District 28. Our district is rich in small parks, plains, and even Quincy Reservoir, all worth protecting and standing up for. I am also very interested in taxation fairness that helps our small businesses thrive, and keeps dollars in the pockets of those who earned them. I want to see fairness in social media, and given the opportunity, will raise questions and concerns about the issue.
