I came to Georgia in 1992 as a young college student at Emory University. Since then, I have called Georgia home for the past 33 years. I have served as a Grant writer and Executive Director for the Diabetes Association of Atlanta. I have been an active resident of Covington, Georgia for 22 years. My commitment to our community is unwavering. I have witnessed the changes in the neighborhoods, streets, and overall quality of life, but I remain because I love my community. I believe that change comes from within. We do not have to seek comfort and peace outside of our own backyards.

This is why I will be your new Georgia State Representative for District 113. I believe in Newton County. I believe in Georgia. It is time to develop real plans, with real action, and for real change. I have worked with our local neighbors and government to make the following changes from the ground up.

Stopped the construction of two gas stations in District 113 Stopped the construction of a Dollar General in District 113 Served on the Newton County Comprehensive Planning Committee Served on Senator Warnock Diabetes and Insulin panel to lower the cost of insulin Created a draft plan for transforming District 113 Serve on the Newton County Animal Services Board

Serve as a minister with a special focus on empowering women and youth
  • I am a fighter for people and our community. As the leader of the Diabetes Association of Atlanta for the past 17 years, I fight to ensure persons have affordable healthcare and medications to live a healthy life. I continue this fight as a community advocate by advocating for improved quality of life. I successfully stopped the development of two gas stations in District 113 and the development of a Dollar General. Our community is saturated with these structures, and I stand with my neighbors on supporting smart growth with our needs in mind.
  • I will continue to fight for affordable medications and healthcare. For the past 17 years, I have served as the Executive Director and Grant writer for the Diabetes Association of Atlanta fighting against diabetes and high health care costs. Every week we receive calls from persons who cannot afford their diabetes medications and testing supplies. I will support lower the costs of medications including name brand drugs. We must save our hospitals particularly in rural areas. Georgians deserve access to affordable healthcare and services.
  • I intend to support legislation that lowers the cost of living, particularly for our seniors. With rising inflation and healthcare costs, seniors and other Georgians are struggling to live day to day. I will collaborate with economic development and local government to create resources that reduce the financial burden of seniors and others with limited incomes.
I am personally passionate about addressing the rising costs healthcare and housing especially for seniors, the middle class and the underinsured. I am personally passionate about implementing smart growth within our local neighborhoods that reduces undesirable development.
It is important for elected officials to represent their community with integrity, passion and transparency. We must make decisions based on values that put people first and promote their best quality of life.
The core responsibilities are:

To support legislation that aligns with the commitments made to their constituents.
To promote legislation that protects the life, liberty and pursuit of happiness for all.
To maintain a connection with their local neighborhoods and community to ensure that state legislation protects local needs.
To keep local community informed of the legislation and issues being discussed within the State Capitol.

To represent their community by being present, vocal and active with integrity, passion and commitment.
The first job I held was delivering newspapers on a paper route. I held that position throughout my four years of high school. After graduating college, I worked as an Account Manager and United Healthcare for two years.
