Karla F. Wright

Karla F. Wright was a judge of the Tenth Judicial Circuit Court in Florida. She was appointed to a newly-created position on this court by former Governor Jeb Bush on December 9, 2005, effective January 2. 2006. Wright died on October 1, 2012, at the age of 63.[1][2][3][4]
Education
Wright received a B.A. degree from Lincoln University in 1971, a M.S.W. degree from Temple University in 1974, and a J.D. degree from the Northwestern University School of Law in 1983.[5]
Career
Wright began her career in 1984 as an associate attorney of Delano S. Stewart, P.A. The following year, she became an Assistant Public Defender for the 10th Judicial Circuit. She then worked as a Hillsborough County Attorney in 1987 and as a Senior Attorney for the Department of Transportation from 1987 to 1991. She was an Assistant Polk County Attorney from 1991 until 2000, when she was appointed to the Polk County Court by Gov. Jeb Bush. She took office in June of 2000. She served as the Administrative Judge of that court from September of 2004 until her appointment to the circuit court in December of 2005.[1][5]
