Ohio: On Friday, Governor John Kasich appointed David Bender to the Fayette County Probate/Juvenile Court. He will succeed Nancy Hammond, who retired from the court on March 31 after almost 20 years of service.[1][2]

Since 2005, Bender has served as the prosecuting attorney for Fayette County. Prior to that he was an attorney in private practice.[3]

Bender must run for the seat in the November 2012 election. If he is elected, he will serve the remainder of Hammond's term, which expires on February 8, 2015.[1]
