|Throughout my career, I have worked with major public and private organizations throughout the Pacific Northwest, across the United States, and around the world. When I started working in IT, I joined the Kirkland-based consulting firm Covestic, now under Milestone Technologies, as a junior consultant and quickly became the first female solution architect within the practice and the youngest to achieve that role.
Prior to joining the region's tech industry, I had graduated from Michigan State University’s journalism program and worked in media relations within the President's Office at Lansing Community College. I then moved to Idaho to work as a newspaper reporter covering K - 12 education, regional universities, along with state and federal education policies. While in Idaho, I also worked as a program manager with a grant-funded non-profit to help small farmers and ranchers compete with agri-business by building and growing their companies through business-focused training programs.
Today, I live in Auburn with my husband. Together we volunteer on community projects with the Auburn Noon Lions Club. I also serve on the Executive Board of the 47th Legislative District Democrats.- I advocate for working families because I grew up in a Midwest household where my mom worked two jobs to support two kids and a live-in grandmother. Watching my mom juggle those responsibilities, I know that hard work can solve a lot of problems but it can't solve everything. Community support and access to local resources - like the Senior Center, the food bank and the parks - make a difference for struggling families. As an elected official, it's my responsibility to ensure our city services meet the changing and dynamic needs of our residents. I want families to get the help they need and I commit to protecting and growing these local programs.
- I believe good science, real data, and the inclusion of diverse viewpoints provides the best foundation for setting policies.
- In my next four years, I want to increase public safety by adding crisis responders to our 911 response for handling mental health issues while enabling our police to focus on crime. I want to build supportive housing to stabilize our homeless residents and help them exit the cycle of chronic homelessness. I want to invest in a green corridor program in central Auburn to address the extreme heat challenges faced by our residents. I want to connect our youth to local opportunities like union apprentice programs, community college, and other professional training paths.
