Since I made Chehalis my home in 2019, I have been privileged to be a part of this wonderful city. Honored to be elected to the City Council in 2021, I am dedicated to ensuring the safety of our community, preserving its historical significance while tackling the challenges that accompany growth. My focus is on developing policies that improve our quality of life, prioritizing public health, and strategic planning for the operational success of our city. I collaborate closely with police, fire, and public health officials to strengthen community safety while planning for responsible capital improvements and fiscal accountability. In my leisure time, l enjoy gardening, cooking, researching and my beloved rescue dog, Miss

K. I wholeheartedly engage in this community both professionally and recreationally, and I look forward to continuing my service in Position # 1 At Large on the Chehalis City Council. Thank you for your support!

ACTIVELY serving as Mayor Pro Tem-Chehalis, Vice-Chair-Lewis County Public Health and Social Services Advisory Board, Lewis County Historical Museum Board, City of Chehalis Budget and Voucher Committee, 911 Dispatch Committee, Board of Trustees-Volunteer Firefighters, SWW Regional Transportation Planning Board, Experience Chehalis Promotions Committee.

Professional: Providence Centralia Hospital, Cascade Mental Health, University of Washington/Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, Harborview Medical Center.
  • Experience: Four years on the Chehalis City Council learning the city operations.
  • Involved in the Community: ACTIVELY serving as Mayor Pro Tem-Chehalis, Vice-Chair-Lewis County Public Health and Social Services Advisory Board, Lewis County Historical Museum Board, City of Chehalis Budget and Voucher Committee, 911 Dispatch Committee, Board of Trustees-Volunteer Firefighters, SWW Regional Transportation Planning Board, Experience Chehalis Promotions Committee.
  • Respected Leader: Unanimously voted in to leadership positions; Incumbent, Chehalis City Council Position #1 At-Large, Mayor Pro Tem-Chehalis City Council, Vice-Chair of Lewis County Public Health and Social Services Advisory Board-behavioral health seat (appointed and serving in second term by all three Lewis County Commissioners and voted unanimously by advisory board to serve as Vice-Chair).
Public health and safety. Ensuring that our city thrives with the proper public safety measures enacted and a general fund that supports our police and fire. I constantly am assessing ways to improve our safety such as our monthly business meetings we started at City Hall to discuss safety and our transient population downtown. I strive to address all aspects of our unhoused and ALICE populations working with Public health officials, businesses, leaders and constituents. I research our city's specific demographics and behavior/values in order to make the most informed decisions on creating and the implementation of policy.
A struggle in my life has been losing people who are close to me. I always approach a situation with the ultimate consideration of improving people's quality of life. I have loved working professionally in hospitals who care for everyone equally and carrying on that leadership in my role as Mayor Pro Tem. As the temperature of the political stage has become high, I hold the role of being nonpartisan and serving all of the city equally. The city of Chehalis has a rich history which I have loved to respect and learn about in my daily life and serving on the Lewis County Historical Society Museum's Board. Although loss is difficult to live with, I am grateful for the memories and wisdom I have gained from my loved ones and hold it with me to work hard and create joy each and every day.
A core skill that I have found valuable in this role while serving for the last four years is to stay within the scope of practice. As nonpartisan, at-large position it is imperative to be able to serve people in that manner. Understanding the population demographics and how decisions will impact each family/individual is most important. In this role, we are stewards of our constituents hard earned tax dollars and must make decisions to benefit the greater good. Although this is an elected office, the nonpartisanship of it creates an opportunity to remove any personal bias or political direction as looking for a solution to problems beyond politics is the key to be successful.
