Katherine A. Feinstein was an assistant presiding judge for the Superior Court of San Francisco in California.[1] She was also the chair of the court's Personnel Committee and a member of Executive Committee. In addition to these duties, in 2007 the California Supreme Court appointed Feinstein to the California Commission on Judicial Performance for a four-year term which she served until December 8, 2010. Feinstein retired on December 31, 2012.[2]

Noteworthy cases
In 2007, Feinstein certified a class action lawsuit brought by the residents of Golden Gateway Center Apartments. The tenants contend that construction by the landlord and contractors released a harmful amount of silica dust into their homes, causing potentially harmful or fatal results. Now with 830 plaintiffs, the results of this case are still pending.[4]
