Kate Gorman is a judge of the Illinois Tenth Judicial Circuit Court in Illinois. She was elected to this position on November 6, 2012, to replace Judge James E. Shadid. She is the first woman to have been elected judge in this circuit. Her current term expires in December of 2018.[1][2]
Education
Gorman received her B.S. degree from the University of Illinois-Champaign in 1990 and her J.D. degree from Southern Illinois University School of Law in 1993.[3]

2012 election
Gorman was elected to the Tenth Circuit without opposition on Nov. 6, 2012. Her opponent, Christopher J. Spanos withdrew from the race prior to the general election. She defeated Matthew Hoppock in the Republican primary on March 20, 2012, receiving 74% of the vote.[5][1][2]
