Kathleen Feeney is a judge for the 3rd District of the Michigan Court of Appeals. She assumed office on January 1, 2023. Her current term ends on January 1, 2029.

Feeney ran for election for the 3rd District judge of the Michigan Court of Appeals. She won in the general election on November 8, 2022.

Education

Feeney received her bachelor's degree from Michigan State University and her J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law.[1]

Career

Feeney began her career working for the law firm of Foster, Swift, Collins & Smith, P.C. She then worked for the Grand Rapids firm of Mika, Meyers, Beckett & Jones from May 1990 to January 1993. After that, Feeney served briefly on the Michigan Court of Appeals’ Research Division before becoming judicial counsel to Appellate Judge Jane Markey. In March 2000, she was appointed to the circuit court bench. She is the first woman to have been appointed or elected to the 17th Circuit Court.[2]
