Kathleen McCarty (Republican Party) was a member of the Connecticut House of Representatives, representing District 38. She assumed office on January 7, 2015. She left office on January 8, 2025.
McCarty (Republican Party) ran for re-election to the Connecticut House of Representatives to represent District 38. She lost in the general election on November 5, 2024.
Biography
Kathleen M. McCarty earned a bachelor's degree from Sacred Heart University, a master's degree in teaching French from Fairfield University, and a master's degree in Medieval Studies from Fordham University. McCarty’s career experience includes working as a high school French teacher, co-pilot, family business co-owner, sports coach and assistant to the Fordham University Medieval Studies Program Director. She served as a chairman to Thames Valley Council for Community Action (TVCCA), chairman for the Waterford Board of Education, founder of the Waterford Education Foundation, and Chairman of the Waterford Republican Town Committee,[1]

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 10, 2014. Marc Balestracci was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while Kathleen M. McCarty was unopposed in the Republican primary. McCarty defeated Balestracci and Billy Gene Collins (G) in the general election.[4][5]
