Kathleen Nelson (Utah)
Kathleen Nelson is a former Utah Second Judicial District associate presiding judge for Weber County for the Juvenile Courts.[1] She died on August 31, 2010.[2]
Nelson was first appointed to the 2nd Distirct Juvenile Court in November 1998.[3]
Education
Nelson received her J.D. from the University of Utah College of Law.[3]
Career
After acquiring her degree, she worked as an attorney for the law firm of Diumenti, Harward & Nelson from 1976 to 1985. She then worked as sole practitioner of her own law firm from 1985 to 1994. From 1994 to 1998, she was an attorney in the Second District's Guardian ad Litem Office. Nelson was appointed to the Second District Juvenile Court by Governor Michael O. Leavitt in 1998. She served in that position until her death.[3]
