Worked in education for over 40 years, as teacher, principal, and Director of Education at Southwestern Christian University. Worked at Office of Education Quality & Accountability doing performance reviews of public schools in Oklahoma. Small business owner and on several school boards in Oklahoma. • Bring Accountability to state government.
  • Provide equal access to all Oklahomans to quality education programs for a highly educated work force.
  • Reduce cost of living in Oklahoma and bring high paying jobs to Oklahoma by providing a high standard of living for employees and a great place for children to attend school.
Accountability in governance, Quality Education for all, and sovereignty of our state against illegal immigration.
Spiritually, I must say that I strive to follow in my Savior's footsteps. Jesus was an example for all of us to follow.
Honesty in all areas of life. Represent every member of District 53 at the state level. Accountability for actions or policies that are voted on in the House of Representatives.
The qualities I possess are staying strong on the issues and not being swayed to go along to get along.
Honesty and accountability to the residents living in District 53. Make information available monthly about how their tax dollars are being spent and current legislative actions.
A legacy of honesty, integrity, and trustworthiness.
I was a nurse's aid at a nursing home during my undergraduate years at Oklahoma Baptist University.
I know the answer most want to put here is the Bible (because it sells well in conservative circles). I am going to say the Bible because I read it every day (most) and it has wisdom beyond human capacity and stories of heroes as well as villains. It contains stories of overcomers. I feel I am an overcomer having been born with a birth defect that has caused some to define me related to what they see or hear. But God, in HIs word defines me as His child. in a continual process of growth. Specifically, I love the book of Esther. For I am here for a time such as this.
I think I am a mixture of all four characters in the Little Women. They are described as, "Meg is beautiful and traditional, Jo is a tomboy who writes, Beth is a peacemaker and a pianist, and Amy is an artist who longs for elegance and fine society. The sisters strive to help their family and improve their characters as Meg is vain, Jo is hotheaded, Beth is cripplingly shy, and Amy is materialistic." I feel I have a bit of all their flaws, their gifts/talents, and their temperaments. I would say there is a bit of each in all of us.
Each office holds special powers that allow everyone's views to be voiced. Governor can veto bills he believes are not good bills but the legislature can over ride as needed based on the opinion of the majority of residents in Oklahoma who agree/disagree with the law. They should have a working relationship so that everyone's opinion is heard and respected.
Ensuring our state education systems (higher education as well as Pk-12) are not institutions of indoctrination but institutions that prioritize an education that provides information, encourages innovation, and allows students to critically think on their own. Education is not to push agendas that are contrary to our republic and our state/federal constitutions. Also, as equally important is to demand accountability of every tax dollar spent.
No
Because some times an outside view might provide a better solution to a problem and our founding fathers had no experience but made a great nation. So building upon their foundation with passion to take risks and do what is right for the people should be the mantra.
Yes
One tree can not stand alone but when surrounded by many trees each receives strength from the other.
Many in my district have been very vocal and also damaged by the turnpike authority using imminent domain to arbitrarily push their own agenda without the voices from the people being heard.
Yes but ONLY if it is deemed and perceived as an emergency by a majority of the citizens.
The bill would deal with higher education and accreditation. The liberal ideas of the accreditation agencies have been allowed to take control of our universities and force policies contrary to conservative values. In addition, this has made it very difficult for small Christian universities.
Education, Human Services, Budget
The government (regardless of level) is for the people and of the people and thus be held accountable by the people. The only way for this to occur is through legislation that requires transparency. Legislators should not be allowed to go into private meetings to vote and the public not be made aware of how their candidate votes.
