Kathy Viviano is a judge of the 16th Circuit Court in Macomb County, Michigan. She was elected on November 2, 2010, and took office the following January. She ran unopposed for re-election in 2016.[1]

Education

Viviano received a B.A. from Hillsdale College in 1990, a master's degree in business administration from Wayne State University in 1996, and a J.D. from Wayne State University in 1999.[2] Prior to receiving her master's and law degrees, she worked as a manager for Viviano Flower Shop.[3]

Career

Viviano worked for the Detroit law firm of Barris, Sott, Denn & Driker for the first five years of her legal career. In 2004, she co-founded the Mt. Clemens firm of Viviano & Viviano PLLC with David Viviano.[4] She was named city attorney of Center Line, Mich., in 2006.[3]

Michigan held general elections for local judicial offices on November 8, 2016. A primary election occurred on August 2, 2016. The candidate filing deadline for incumbents was March 21, and the deadline for non-incumbents was April 19.[5] Incumbent Richard Caretti and incumbent Kathy Viviano were unopposed in the 16th Circuit general election (2 open seats).[1]
