Kathryn Bailey
Kathryn Bailey was a commissioner on the three-member New Hampshire Public Utilities Commission. She was appointed to the commission by Governor Maggie Hassan (D) on June 24, 2015.[1] Her term ended on June 30, 2021.
Biography
Before becoming a public utilities commissioner, Bailey served on the New Hampshire Public Utilities Commission since 1989 in a variety of capacities including director of telecommunications, chief engineer, assistant chief engineer, and telecommunications engineer. Immediately prior to her appointment as commissioner, she served as the commission's director of regulatory innovation and strategy. She has been a certified engineer in New Hampshire since 1991.[1][2]
In addition to her service on the Public Utilities Commission, Bailey served in the United States Air Force where she was a communications officer and a test team chief stationed in Germany.[1]

Bailey was appointed to the New Hampshire Public Utilities Commission by Governor Maggie Hassan on June 24, 2015, in order to fill the vacancy left by former Commissioner Amy L. Ignatius, who left office in October 2014.[1][4] Bailey was subsequently confirmed by the New Hampshire Executive Council on July 22, 2015.
Upon Bailey's confirmation, Gov. Hassan said, "Kate Bailey has had a distinguished career of service at the Public Utilities Commission that will help her carry out the commission's critical work to protect consumers and ensure that our people, families and businesses receive safe, affordable and reliable utility services.
