I love Fremont. I am a proud and devoted Fremont resident for over 40 years.

My recent professional journey spans 15 years with the Fremont Unified School District (FUSD), and my current role as Fremont Field Director for Alameda County Supervisor, District 1, David Haubert. I have participated in an extensive range of nonprofit roles from volunteer to leadership, including Board president and co-founder. Community positions, include the Fremont Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee and former commissioner for the Senior Services Commission. Along the way, I have developed the skills required to act as a community liaison and put my passion for relationship-brokering to work building teams, forging camaraderie, and finding solutions. Together with my husband of 38 years, I have raised two children from boys to thriving adults. Following my children’s journey through the Fremont Unified School District I saw the need at school sites and volunteered as a PTA leader, resulting in earning their highest honor, PTA Golden Oak Award.

  • Collaborating with local businesses and connecting them with resources. Championing education, resources, and support for Tri-City nonprofits
  • Address growth, traffic, and public safety.
  • Working on local programs in partnership with regional programs to help Fremont residents in need of assistance
Small business and nonprofits. These both are the backbone of our community. They provide jobs, resources and support.

Business keeps tax dollars in Fremont and provides work opportunities.

Nonprofits attract like minded people who wish to work and/or volunteer in their community to make things better for those who are challenged, or in need of support and resources.
I thrive on building community among my neighbors, community members, city and county officials and business stakeholders. My skills as a community liaison put my passion for relationship-brokering to work building teams, forging camaraderie, and finding solutions.
Leave the City better than I found it, and create an environment that attracts and has social value to young adults. That Fremont is a place to live, work and play for people of all ages.
The Tipping Point, by Malcolm Gladwell. How things get worse and how they can be changed depending on how we handle situations was very interesting. The example he used, such as the broken window syndrome, made it crystal clear that action creates changes. Questioning when is the moment of critical mass that creates a Tipping Point may be applied in so many areas of our life and communities.
I Want You to Have it All, by Jason Mraz. This played for the mother/son dance at my son's wedding only a month ago.
Supporting my sister who struggles with mental health issues has been a big job. Along with her mental health issues, she also battles physical health challenges. What I have learned from this experience as her caretaker is how to ask the system to help her, discover new resources and systems of support to help her live a balanced, satisfying and productive life.

2016

Kimberlin's campaign website listed the following themes for 2016:

I am running for council to help ensure the citizens of Fremont have the best quality of life possible. This means real solutions for public safety, traffic, healthcare, parks and recreation, business, development, and education.

Growth in Fremont should be positive for our residents and neighborhoods, so we must manage it in smart ways. As community volunteer for more than 20 years, I worked to make improvements in our 5 historic districts. I am proud that as president of the Centerville Business and Community Association I worked to develop a smart plan for growth. As your councilmember, I will build on my experience, work with small business and residents to grow rich culture, create economic development, and innovative strategies for projects in Warm Springs, Downtown, and throughout Fremont.

Fremont is a city of vibrant cultures that need to be a part of and benefit from Fremont’s growth plan. I will work to shape inclusive communities that celebrate Fremont’s diversity. I will look for opportunities to partner with the schools and neighborhoods to support education that helps our communities succeed.

I respectfully ask for your vote so that we can work together to create a positive future for Fremont. [5]
