Kathy Zappitello has spent her career working for the citizens of Ashtabula County. As the Executive Director of the Conneaut Public Library, Kathy has had a transformational role in economic development, education, and community partnerships throughout the region. As the National President of the Association for Rural & Small Libraries, Kathy has helped to steward millions of dollars in funding to better local communities by providing access to resources and services that improve the quality of life on a national scale.

From being honored with recognition such as Conneaut’s past ”Citizen of the year”, LEADERship Ashtabula County’s Community Partnership Award, and national publication commentary and outlooks, Kathy has been active in all facets of civic endeavor.

Kathy has been a sought after presenter, facilitator, and board member throughout the County and the Nation. Kathy has been one of the most effective and impactful change agents of her generation in Ashtabula County. Volunteerism and dedication are not new to Kathy- they have been a part of her life for over two decades
  • As your State Representative, I want to restore the voice of Ashtabula County’s citizens to the Ohio House. I will listen to local leaders and community members on their needs, consulting with them on legislation and opportunities that impact our District directly. Representation is not about MY Choices and MY Personal Interests- it’s about your choices and your voice.
  • I will work to ensure that the 99th District receives funding for projects that impact our infrastructure and quality of life. Supporting our farmers and industry - from healthcare to manufacturing to small business- with funding and legislation that tackles the issues most important here at home is my priority. You deserve the very same dollars that are being spent throughout the State of Ohio here as well. I know what we need- because I’ve worked alongside all of you, and I’ve had a seat at the table in economic development discussions and strategic planning. I have a record of executing visionary projects with both funding and positive outcomes.
  • I will fight to keep information free to our citizens. By restricting information and discouraging freedom of thought, censors undermine one of the primary functions of education: teaching students how to think for themselves. They stop our citizens from making informed choices and decisions. We can not endanger tolerance, free expression, and democracy.
Upon election to the Ohio General Assembly, Kathy will represent the men, women, and children of the district, fairly and effectively. She will be a much-needed voice in our State government.

You can use your vote to empower her to be your voice on issues that directly impact the lives of Ashtabula and Geauga County residents.

As your Representative, Kathy will work for you on these critical matters:

- Fighting for our workers
- Students first in education
- Affordable living for families and seniors
- Creating new opportunity for rural Ohio
- Infrastructure funding in our communities
-Protecting our democracy and the rights of women and LGBTQ+ Ohioans

- Protecting reproductive freedom
