I am a wife, a mother of five, and an educator. I am also a Bible believing Christian. I am running for State Legislature because our incumbent was running unopposed, and her values are in direct opposition to my conservative values. I had no one to vote for. I am appalled at the swiftness of the radical agendas that threaten the Good Life in Nebraska. I am not a politician; I was not groomed to be political. Individual liberty is my top priority. Property tax relief, smaller government, fiscal stewardship are all things I will absolutely fight for, but if we do not have individual rights to our medical autonomy, the right to speak freely without the fear of censorship or worse, the right to bear arms, the right as parents to decide what is best for our children, if we do not have safe and private spaces for our daughters, if we as a society continue to end the lives of the precious and vulnerable unborn children, then everything else matters very little.
  • My top priority is individual liberty. We have seen all too well these last two years how easily our rights can slip through our fingers. Every generation must fight for freedom, and now it's our turn to fight for ourselves, our children, and for all the generations that will come after us.
  • As a parent of five children, I will never stop fighting to protect parental rights. Parents have the absolute authority over their children, what goes into their bodies and their minds. Families are the essential building block that healthy societies depend on to thrive. The government should never interfere with the choices a parent makes for their child.
  • A society that does not protect its most vulnerable member will not survive. I believe that human life begins at conception. We must stand up for those not yet born as a trustee to say "I am a human and I have the right to live."
I am passionate about the right to life for all our citizens, including the unborn. I am passionate about the right to medical autonomy: no one should be forced or coerced to undergo any medical procedure or experiment. I am passionate about keeping the sanctity of private spaces (restrooms, locker rooms, etc) for women. I also support the right for women to compete in fair competition with other women. I am passionate about parental rights: protecting parental rights is protecting children. I am passionate about fiscal stewardship and transparency. I am passionate about bringing every decision possible to the local communities. I am passionate about lowering property taxes. Taxes are driven by demands, in order to reduce taxes, we need to reduce our spending. I am passionate about supporting our police officers.
C.S. Lewis is a person I look up to. Early in life he was an atheist and he set out to prove that God does not exist. Instead, he ended up becoming one the world's most published Christian theologians. He loved children and valued the protection of their innocence.
I am a taxpayer and a citizen that cares and has a heart to serve.
The first historical event that I remember was the space shuttle explosion in 1986. I was a sophomore in high school, and I was in social studies class. I was proud that Christa McAuliffe was almost a 'normal' person and a woman (!) and she was going to fly to space. She seemed so real and accessible. I loved that she was an ordinary person doing an extraordinary thing. And then just like that, she was gone. It was my first realization of our mortality and how fragile life is.
My very first job was in high school. it was a small family-owned grocery store in a little town. I loved it for several reasons, I loved the family atmosphere, I got to chat regularly with everyone in town, and it helped me to grow confidence and strengthen my work ethic. I kept that job until I went off to college. It was a gem of a first job!
