Biography

Katrina Hardwick was born in Seymour, Indiana. She earned an associate degree from Ivy Tech Community College in 2013 and a certificate from the Indiana University School of Medicine Histology Program. Hardwick’s career experience includes working as a laboratory tech in histology and pathology.[1][2]

Kat lives in Seymour with her 11 yr old son, dog, and cats. She is a certified Histology tech, a dance fitness instructor, a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community, a daughter, sister and a friend.
  • Strengthen public education and increase teacher salaries.
  • Criminal justice reform- end cash bail/end private for-profit prisons
  • Equality for all Hoosiers- comprehensive hate crime bill, equal pay
No state driven standardized testing, legalization and decriminalization of marijuana with record expungement, Environmental initiatives to improve climate change, utilize farmland and bring jobs
My mom- she passed away last year, but lived a life of love, kindness and quiet strength.
Being true to oneself and serving with integrity and honesty. A willingness to truly listen and be a voice for all constituents.
I would like to leave a better Earth for my son and the generations behind him. A cleaner, more ecologically sound world, but also one that values all human life equally. A world where people truly care and want to take care of each other.
I worked at Subway restaurant from 16-17
Uncle Tom's Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe. I remember being in 8th grade US History and choosing this to do a book report on and my teacher thinking I was "biting off more than I could chew" with the subject matter and length. I was compelled though, as the idea of slavery, people being bought, sold and traded and how it existed for that long was so horrifying me. That novel impacted me so deeply. It obviously tackled the immorality of slavery, but also chronicled the strength of the human spirit- particularly women. It was
Leslie Knope from Park and Rec- she's hysterical, completely authentic and driven. I call myself an optimist realist which one could say she is as well.
Having experience is never a bad thing, but I also don't believe it's necessary. Passion, determination, compassion and a willingness to listen cannot be gained from experience and are all of highest importance for a Representative.
Bringing new jobs and keeping jobs here, improving our environment, improving public education
Absolutely. Legislators have to be able to work together to improve our great state so we must create strong working relationships to do so.
