Smith Campbell ran for election to the Macon County District Court.
Primary: She was defeated in the Democratic primary on June 3rd, 2014, receiving 22.1 percent of the vote. She competed against Deborah H. Biggers, Linda W.H. Henderson, and Lateefah Muhammad.
Runoff: Because no candidate received over 50% of the vote in the primary, Biggers and Henderson were advanced to a runoff election on July 15. According to initial results, Henderson edged out Campbell for the second-place spot, and a chance at a runoff, by only 6 votes.
