Kawika Smith
Kawika Smith is a judge of the Superior Court of San Bernardino County in California. Smith assumed office in 2021. Smith's current term ends on January 8, 2029.
Smith won re-election for judge of the Superior Court of San Bernardino County in California outright in the primary on June 7, 2022, after the primary and general election were canceled.
Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) appointed Smith to the court on July 9, 2021, to replace Keith Davis. Although California Superior Court judges are elected in nonpartisan elections, a press release from Gov. Newsom's office announcing Smith's appointment identified him as a Democrat.[1]
