Why are you running for office? All children deserve a quality education, and I believe public schools are the best means to reach this fundamental goal. A strong public education system is essential for our youth and for the vitality of our community. I am proud of the accomplishments of the Appleton Area School District, yet there is more to achieve. I am seeking re-election to continue building on the district’s foundation of educational excellence and to improve the quality of education for all students. Government experience: Appleton Area School District Board of Education, 2003 – present. What do you think are the key issues facing the community? Achievement and success for all students is at the core of the district mission and is certainly an ongoing priority. Meeting the educational needs of all students encompasses numerous factors including creating safe and welcoming learning environments; implementing and assessing best teaching practices; addressing student social, emotional and mental health concerns; and recruiting and retaining high-quality staff.
What do you hope to accomplish, if elected? I want to continue working collaboratively with my colleagues, district administration and staff to assess progress, institute improvements, and advance what is done for all students, every day. I am committed to fiscal responsibility and providing great educational value to the taxpayers.[7] |
