I was born and raised in Lubbock. I attended Rush Elementary, Mackenzie Junior High, Coronado High School and Lubbock High School. My grandfather was a Lubbock Policeman and my father was the Planning and Zoning Administrator for Lubbock. That being said I have a deep love for Lubbock and the people.

The reason I am running for city council is "TO HELP PEOPLE" and see that their needs are met.

I believe PEOPLE should come first.

I have previous experience as a city councilor and I will tell you every bad thing you have heard about politics is true.

I love politics and it is ashamed how our political system has mutated into something that our founding fathers would be ashamed of. As a former city councilor I have seen the corruption, the abuse of power and the influence that money has. There has to be accountability!!!

I understand the roll of and elected official. As an elected official they are to represent "The People" and not their own self interests.

I am NOT a "Yes-Man" and I despise the "Good Old Boys Club."

  • Everyone deserves a voice in their governing and taxation.
  • There has to be accountability when it comes to spending and the burden it puts on the citizens. Also reducing the cities $ 1,157,056,000 debt.
  • A local government should be efficient in every aspect to benefit the citizens needs.
I am a former city councilor which helped build a new city from the ground up.

I care about every public policy that concerns citizens and I am a very "HANDS ON" kind of politician. I don't mind rolling up my sleeves and getting the job done.

A councilor must be open minded and never bias.
A councilor must be humble and a servant to the people.
No concern is to small concerning a citizen.
Dedicated to serve "The People."
Corruption, in my opinion there is zero tolerance.
TAXATON WITH REPRESENTATION!!!
Public safety is always a concern.
Wasteful spending needs to stop.
Stop trying to be like other cities and develop your own identity.
Bring fun into peoples lives.
Stop taking from people and give back.
Don't over look the little needs or the big needs.
Education and our school system needs to improve.
It is a cities duty to prepare for the unexpected.
There needs to be some "Common Sense" in government.
I believe in term limits.
A city councilor must put the peoples' well being above all.
Budgeting: I honestly believe I could help the tax payers of Lubbock and start paying down our city debt.
We need regular citizens to monitor every aspect of our local government.
FIX IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME.

This is just a few .

Plan and simple...the ability to convey each and everyone's opinion and concerns to state officials.
Although he has passed it would be my father Jerrel Northcutt.

My father was a Christian, dedicated to our family and working three jobs at times.

Also, father worked for the City of Lubbock for 37 years. He was the cities Planning and Zoning Administrator. I saw fist hand the dedication and respect he gave to the city and the citizens of Lubbock.

My father will always be my hero.
I look at politics from the view of our founding fathers. Our country could have been a monarchy but turned out to be a republic. I also believe supreme power should be held by the people and not a government. The bigger a government becomes the smaller the people become. There has to be "Taxation with representation."

"Let us never forget that government is ourselves and not an alien power over us. The ultimate rulers of our democracy are not a President and senators and congressmen and government officials, but the voters of this country."

Franklin D. Roosevelt
CARING ABOUT ALL CITIZENS!!!

MAKING LIFE FAIR

PASSION

DEDICATION

REPRESENTING EVERYONE'S BELIEFS... DISPITE YOUR OWN BELIEFS

YOU COME SECOND... PEOPLE COME FIRST

ALL SHOULD BENEFIT NOT JUST A FEW

INCORRUPTIBLE

There are many more.

I have a passion to make Lubbock great again for all and a dedication to reducing the debt of
$ 1,157,056,000 (Last available figure from Texas State Comptroller August 31, 2018) and my understanding that this figure does not include interest.
I believe it is the care for and meeting the needs of the citizens.
To make life better for everyone in Lubbock.
Worked at a little gas station on 4th & Toledo
The Bible. It is an inspiration.
Communication. You have to be able to convey your thoughts and the thoughts of the citizens clearly.

Listening and relating to citizens concerns.

Hard worker. You can never give up.
