Kecia Mays
Kecia Mays was a member of the Arlington Independent School District in Texas, representing Place 7. Mays assumed office in 2014. Mays left office on May 18, 2023.
Mays won re-election to the Arlington Independent School District to represent Place 7 in Texas outright after the general election on May 2, 2020, was canceled.
Biography
Mays earned her B.A. in accounting from Texas A&M University. She has been an auditor with the Texas State Comptroller's Office since 1991. Mays volunteers her time with the Arlington Independent School District Education Foundation and the Dream Weaver Foundation. She and her husband have three children who attend district schools.[1]

General election
The general election was canceled. Kecia Mays (Nonpartisan) won without appearing on the ballot.
2017
Two of seven seats on the Arlington Independent School District board of trustees were up for at-large general election on May 6, 2017. In Place 6, incumbent Bowie Hogg filed for re-election. He defeated challenger Hunter Crow. In Place 7, incumbent Kecia Mays defeated challenger Benita Shepherd.[2]

2014
In an interview with the Arlington Citizen-Journal, Mays cited implementation and continued development of the district's strategic plan as a theme for her 2014 campaign. She also advocated for the proposed $663 million bond package to enhance the district's technological infrastructure.[5]
