My name is Keith Brodhacker, and I'd like to serve as your next Illinois State Representative for the 68th district. Please allow me to introduce myself and tell you what I believe in. I was born in Kansas City, Mo., and grew up primarily in southern Illinois and Panama City, Florida. After high school, I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. It was an honor and a privilege to serve this magnificent nation. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Social and Behavioral Science from Ashford University. My experience working in a children's hospital as a behavioral specialist gave me the opportunity to work with at-risk kids dealing with various behavioral issues. l also studied Bible/Ministry at Christian Leaders Institute and am an ordained minister through the Christian Leadership Alliance. Currently, I serve as the precinct committeeman for Flora 1 in Belvidere, am a member of the Boone County Republican Central Committee, member of the Boone County Republican Club and am an associate member of the Northern Illinois Republican Women group (NIRW).
Today, I am deeply concerned about the quality of education for our children. Educators should serve as mentors, role models, and sources of insight and wisdom. However, far too many teachers today have shown themselves to be interested in advancing their own ideological agendas, presenting educational practices from a left-wing socialistic viewpoint. Educators in Illinois are being encouraged to promote woke ideology by applying Culturally Responsive Teaching Standards. Students as young as 6 and 7 years old will now have curriculum that teaches them about masturbation and other sexual material. Parents have every right to be concerned about what is happening in their child's education. Too many Illinois taxpayers have seen their tax dollars wasted. According to the latest census data from the U.S. Department of Commerce. State and local taxes in Illinois are among the highest in the nation. Too many Illinois taxpayers have seen their tax dollars wasted. Getting control of the state budget is the first step toward reducing taxes in Illinois. The misuse of tax dollars in Illinois is largely due to structural problems in the way Illinois spends money. We must put a stop to wasteful spending and pork projects.
