Franke's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[7]
| “ | Economic Development
It is important in these difficult economic times for our nation that every state focus on their local economies and try to grow them. A focus needs to be put on supporting small business opportunites in our area. This may be done by taking the cost of doing business out of city politics. With smart economic development comes job creation which is needed to fulfill opportunity for more people to become independant and successful. Taxes I would like to focus on making Minnesota a more small business friendly state by reducing taxes while maintaining a quality level of employee pay and benefits. Reduction in the tax burden on all families is also needed. By lowering or abolishing capital gains tax, marriage tax, death and inheritance tax, more money could be kept by the taxpayers. Any tax surplus should be returned to the taxpayers. We should remove the burden on our senior citizens by abolishing Minnesota state tax on social security income. Retiring veterans returning to MN after their service should also not have their pensions subject to state taxes. Public Safety Our public safety officials and first responders need to be provided with the tools and support they need to be successful. Education We need to work with local school administrators, elected officials and families to continue and expand the success of our children through a quality education. Veterans Existing veterans and returning veterans need to be supported in obtaining better control over their medical care.[8] |

Scorecards
A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.
Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
