Biography
Keith Hicks was born in Richmond, Virginia. He received a bachelor's degree from Averett University in 2010 and an advanced degree from the University of Phoenix in 2013. Hicks' professional experience includes working in education. He was appointed to the Virginia Manufacturing Housing Board and has been associated with the Astoria Beneficial Club, Toastmasters, Masons, and Virginia Heroes.[1]

- The school system major issues are the lack of funding teacher salaries to exceed the national average, Henrico county has a high turn over of teachers every year and needs to institute a more robust recruiting and retention system that will ensure the district retain the best and the brightest teachers and staff.
- increasing the resources that teachers need in the classroom, utilizing a larger share of the revenue received from the meals tax to go toward teacher salaries. Teacher salaries need to receive the largest share of the meals tax revenue in order for our teachers to exceed the teacher national average in wages.
