General: He was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 32.0 percent of the vote. He competed against incumbent Lidia Stiglich.

Tierney received his undergraduate degree from Golden Gate University, his master's degree from the University of Nevada at Reno, and his J.D. degree from the California Western School of Law.[2][3]
Career
Tierney maintains his own law practice in Reno, Nevada, representing individuals, utilities, small businesses, banks, and contractors.[3]
