Campaign themes

2014

Jenkins' website highlighted the following campaign themes:[5]

Economy / Jobs

  • Excerpt: "Keith supports inventive ideas to bring more jobs into the area through small businesses and by encouraging large companies to our fine area by highlighting our cheap property taxes and breaks. He would like to initiate a broader spectrum of services and resources available to individuals wishing to start a successful new business - we need to ensure that local entrepreneurship is supported with a proper foundation."

Education / Allocation of Funding

  • Excerpt: "We must preserve quality public school education with innovations to increase productivity while fostering a properly funded environment of success, teamwork and ingenuity. Our country is strongest when our children are happy, healthy and well-educated. A second rate education system is not an option. Georgia needs to focus on it's own greatest infrastructional resource - it's future - the children of the Peach State."

Agriculture / The Environment

  • Excerpt: "A quality Representative will support a balance between stewardship of the Earth and good business practices - one does not need to come at the expense of the other. Keith currently works every day to promote the communities’ overall goals of prosperity, safety and opportunity. Georgia must be a leader in research in soil conservation, maxizing renewable resources and ensuring quality water distrubution to better preserve our way of life."

Healthcare / Medicaid Expansion

  • Excerpt: "Keith feels that it is vital that the State of Georgia expand Medicaid to close the gap in care that many Georgians are currently experiencing. Medicaid expansion would encompass those individuals who live below the poverty line and provide access to affordable healthcare coverage. Georgia currently contributes monetarily to expand Medicaid in other states but the current administration has rejected it for our people."

Tax Reform

  • Excerpt: "Our antiquated tax code was written in the 1930s. Reformation of our state’s tax system will help businesses flourish, increase the purchasing power of the consumer and create demand for new small businesses to emerge and fourish locally in our community. The District should continue to promote low property taxes while exploring other creative, innovative means of producing revenue and increasing community support. This is the future of our community and it needs to be a District wide, perpetual discussion on improving revenue as a community."
