MacDonald ran in the 2012 election for Minnesota House of Representatives District 3B. He ran unopposed in the Republican primary on August 7 and was defeated by incumbent Mary Murphy (D) in the general election on November 6.[2][3]
2010
MacDonald ran for election to the District 6B seat in 2010. He had no primary opposition. He was defeated by Mary Murphy (DFL) in the general election on November 2, 2010.[4]
