|- Accountability to the voter is improtant for every elected official to keep them honest and serving the people.
- Education is the key to individual success and self determination and for our success as a country.
- We need additional attention to Fiscal Responsibility and getting our deficit spending and debts under control.
I am also motivated to promote a more robust education system in our country. State and local governments should have control over their education systems, but the federal government has a critical role in setting key national interest priorities for education and for providing funding to help level the playing field to provide a quality education to all children in the country.
I also have great respect for Nelson Mandela in his ability to be even handed and not seek revenge on the former ruling class of South Africa after he came to power. It must have been incredibly difficult to do that and keep the country together during the upheaval they were experiencing.
Representatives should represent the needs and desires of their constituents, but also use their good judgment to think in the longer term to best meet the needs of their district.
