I am Kejal Patel, a proud resident of Irving, A mother, a business owner and a dedicated community leader. My role as a mother of two children and a caregiver of my mother in law gives me a front row seat to the challenges of our community. For years I have been actively involved in our community listening to families, supporting local businesses, and working to make our neighborhoods stronger. My story is rooted in hard work, perseverance and a deep commitment to serving this community- not just in words, but through action. As a business owner, I manage daily operations, budgets and teams. I am accountable, reliable, and efficient in making decisions that impact people's lives. I will serve with the same integrity and resourcefulness on the city council. My leadership is not from grand titles or ivy league education but from lived experience managing a multi-generational household, a family, and hospitality business. I am not afraid to ask tough questions, demand transparency and stand up for what is right. I will listen, I will lead and I will deliver. I want to help build an Irving that is safe, compassionate and fiercely focused on its residents.
  • Neighborhood safety isn't just a talking point for me- it is my absolute top priority. That means taking a firm stance on short term rental that bring disruption to our quiet neighborhoods. We must ensure our law enforcement officer and firefighters have the resources they need to keep our families, schools and streets safe.
  • A truly strong city is also a compassionate one. We need to support our animal services and their collaboration with local rescue missions. I strongly oppose the practice of euthanizing animals simply due to lack of space or resources. We can and we must do better for our Animals. But this compassion must also extend to our fellow residents. Through my own volunteer work with local charities I have seen the incredible life changing impact these organizations have on the ground. Instead of relying solely on city contributions, we must empower and support our local non-profits to take the lead in caring for homeless individuals, providing them with real help, resources and dignity.
  • The greatest need is for the city council to listen to its residents. I also believe strongly in listening to our residents. Our City Council should be keenly aware of the difference between listening and just hearing. I will make myself accessible, engage regularly with the community, and ensure that decisions at City Hall reflect the real concerns of district-3 families and not just rapid development goals. Irving's diversity is our greatest strength and I am committed to representing every single voice in district 3. Let's work together to make our home the best it can be.
I am passionate about housing affordability and social justice. We need a variety of housing options for all income levels. For nearly a decade Irving has lacked the voice and perspective of women. It is time to bring balance, representation and unique approach to leadership. I'm running because I want every resident no matter their background to feel heard, represented and supported. Transparency builds trust and trust is essential for a strong and united community. I am committed to making sure that every voice matters, every dollar is accounted for, and every decision is made with fairness and integrity.
