Kellie Collins was a 2018 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 10th Congressional District of Georgia.[1] Collins dropped out of the race prior to the election, citing personal reasons.[2]

Noteworthy events
On August 7, 2018, Kellie Collins—a former Democratic candidate for Georgia's 10th Congressional District—was charged with the murder of her former political action committee treasurer after his body was discovered inside his home in Aiken County, South Carolina.[3] Authorities believed the victim, Curt Cain, died from blood loss related to a gunshot wound sustained on August 4, 2018. Collins surrendered to authorities in nearby McDuffie County, Georgia, after warrants for her arrest were issued. She was also charged with grand larceny in the theft of the victim's vehicle after his murder. According to Fox News, Collins and Cain had been living together.[4]
