I grew up in Tacoma and have raised my family here, so I understand the importance of ensuring Pierce County is a great place to live, work, and play. I am deeply invested in our community.
As the first in my family to go to college and a single mom who was once on welfare and is now an entrepreneur, I know firsthand the struggles many of you face. I've been there, trying to pay the utility bills and dealing with the rising cost of living. That's why I'm committed to protecting your energy choices and ensuring our local government operates efficiently and sustainably.
Public safety, homelessness, and affordability are critical issues we need to address head-on. I'm proud to be the only candidate endorsed by the Pierce County Sheriff's Guild because they trust me to tackle these challenges with integrity and determination.
I also believe it's essential to protect our local natural resources and ensure we have a vibrant economy where everyone has the opportunity to achieve the American dream. It's crucial that we build houses that keep pace with demand and incomes, ensuring everyone has a place to call home.
I have bipartisan support and I'm confident we can work together to achieve these goals.
I'm Kelly Chambers. I ask for your support, and together we can build a brighter future for Pierce County.- Public safety. We all want our homes and our neighborhoods to be safe. It is important As the next Pierce County Executive to support the men and women in law enforcement that work to protect our communities on a daily basis. I have been a supporter of law-enforcement during my six years in the state legislature and will continue to do so as the next Pierce County Executive. I am proud to be endorsed by the two largest police unions in the county: The Pierce County Sheriff’s guild and the Tacoma Police guild. Law enforcement has endorsed me because they trust me to work to make our community more safe
- Housing. As the next Pierce County Executive, it is important to ensure that we continue to build all types of housing throughout the county so everyone has a place to call home. It is important that we add to the housing supply so the price of housing does not outpace the income of Pierce County residents. Owning a home is the greatest wealth building tool we have as Americans. I am committed to ensuring the people of Pierce County are able to achieve the American dream by becoming homeowners.
- Energy choice. As the next Pierce County Executive, I am committed to ensuring people have access to abundant and Efficient energy choice.
Education was a game changer in my life. I became a young mother in high school, and it was a good education and supportive teachers that helped me pursue higher education. I was first in my family to go to college where I earned 2 degrees from PLU. I am passionate about small business because small businesses create more than half of the jobs in our state. I have ran my small business in Pierce County for the last 20 years and I am committed to ensuring Pierce County is a great place to start a business. Pierce county is strongly tied to the military. I am committed to supporting our veterans and military community.
