I'm the proud daughter of third-generation Polish & Italian immigrants, an Astoria mom, and a businesswoman running for City Council against our disgraced, socialist Councilwoman Tiffany Caban. I’m not a politician. I’m not doing this as a stepping stone. But ever since Caban was elected, my kids and I began to feel unsafe, as Caban's calls to abolish the police threatened everyone in our community. This was when I decided to step up and run for City Council District 22, my hometown. As a working single parent, I understand what it means to raise kids in areas that lack opportunity. It’s time for a new voice at City Hall. We need someone who hasn’t given up yet on making the promise of the American Dream a reality for future generations, or for those still struggling to achieve it today. We need someone who will restore hope for our community, and truly help those struggling to get by. This is why I am stepping up to the plate to stop the growth of socialism in Astoria. I will be a fighter in City Hall, and I will stop at nothing to restore public safety and quality of life to our neighborhoods.
  • Our communities need more law enforcement officers, traffic safety officers, school safety officers and crossing guards: The 114 Precinct reports that summons in our areas are up 120% year to date. Major crime arrests are up by 20%. Felonies and school violence has seen an uptick, all while Caban wants safety officers out of schools. Repeat offenders, including shoplifters harass and rob business owners more commonly, leaving our shopping and restaurant hubs at risk. Instead of calling for the abolishment of the NYPD, I will work with our precinct and local business owners to assure the safety needs are being consistently met. This is why my first priority will be increasing law enforcement throughout our communities.
  • Better Student Outcomes & Aid for Teachers: To combat learning loss, we must work with all stakeholders involved to help students struggling to meet standards. In a time where the City is cutting the education budget, I will be the loudest voice in city hall to demand we not cut, but invest in our children and teachers. To adequately prepare our students for the real world, we must equip them with skills such as budgeting, saving, and the basic concepts of financial literacy.
  • Long-term solutions for the Homeless and the Emotionally Disturbed: Our city faces a mental health crisis that is continually ignored by city officials. The emotionally disturbed and homeless continue to crowd our streets and hospitals, desperately seeking the proper care they deserve. Yet, Tiffany Caban and City Hall think handouts and empty rhetoric can solve this monumental problem. As your Councilwoman, I promise to tackle this crisis with efficiency and practicality, working with public and private partners to ensure every resident here is able to access medical resources and treatment within affordable means.
Since the pandemic we’ve seen a massive 15% spike in violent crime citywide, students face unprecedented learning loss & mental health issues, test scores dropped below 50%, and our current housing crisis is both unsustainable and forcing families to leave NYC. Access to achievement, opportunity, and upward mobility for low-income families is dwindling under Caban’s watch in City Hall. We need solutions for these critical issues, and I intend to set these as my top priorities as your Councilwoman.
