Campaign themes

2013

Perez stated the following about her campaign priorities on her website:

I believe that every child in LPS has the right to a high quality, well-rounded, and complete education that will serve as a solid foundation for them as they go forward in life. To do this I believe that we must continue to support our school district, our teachers and most importantly our students; a path which my history has shown consistent support for.

The role of everyone who works in LPS is to ensure our students get the best education possible. A lot can go on at the district level, but the arena where the true differences are made is in the classroom, with our teachers. It is crucial that we support our teachers and give them the means to succeed in the classroom.

The motivation for my work is, and always has been, to ensure that our kids get the best education they can get so when the time comes for them to embark on their own journey into the world, they are armed with an education that makes their dreams, aspirations, and hopes within reach. My motivation is unwavering and indefatigable and it is this motivation that fuels my desire to be your school board representative.[5]
