Kelly Tua Hammers is a judge of the Westmoreland County Magisterial District Court in Pennsylvania. She assumed office on November 15, 2021. Her current term ends on January 3, 2028.

Hammers was a 2015 candidate for the Westmoreland County Magisterial District in Pennsylvania.[1]

Hammers was appointed to the court on October 27, 2021, by the Pennsylvania State Senate to replace Mark J. Bilik for the remaining two months of his term.[2] Hammers won a full six-year term on November 2, 2021 to serve as district judge on the Westmoreland County Magisterial District. Hammers' full term will begin in January.[3]

Education

Hammers received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Pittsburgh and a J.D. from Dickinson School of Law.[2]

Career

Hammers served as assistant district attorney in the county since 1997, specializing in prosecutions of sexual assaults, civil asset forfeiture cases and juvenile crimes. Hammers also worked as an instructor for the Municipal Police Academy at Westmoreland County Community College.[2]
