I am an Educator of 23 years in the State of North Carolina. I currently teach 8th grade Math in Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools.
  • 🍎 Full Funding for NC Public Schools: Investing in Every Child.

The Constitutional Promise For over two decades, the State of North Carolina has failed to meet its most fundamental constitutional obligation: to provide every child with the "opportunity to receive a sound basic education." This promise, affirmed by the landmark Leandro ruling in 1997, is not being kept. I have seen the direct, painful consequences in our classrooms. A great public school education shouldn't be a lottery based on your zip code, but a right guaranteed by the state with full funding of public schools while also being fiscally responsible and requiring excellence. • Access to quality care is a right, not a privilege.

Focus: Making quality healthcare accessible and affordable for all residents.

I believes that healthcare is a right, and my focus is on ensuring every resident of District 105—from children to seniors—has access to quality, affordable care. This means that the gridlock in our legislature must end and Republicans need to take the lead while working with Democrats and Independents in developing a comprehensive plan that eliminates waste and broadens access to high quality, affordable healthcare to all. We can work with pharmaceutical companies to lower drug costs and providers for market rate surgery and home health care, reducing costly hospital stays.
  • District 105 is suffocating under a lack of comprehensive transportation planning. This was evident in the recent Transportation Referendum (sponsored by Cotham) in which our district has been targeted for toll roads but left out of light rail and a comprehensive bus/ Micro transit that will take residents to Uptown during daily hours on weekdays and weekends. Our daily lives are defined by congestion, and our economy is held back by inefficient roads. When Raleigh fails to deliver on its commitment to critical regional projects, local taxpayers are forced to shoulder the entire burden, often leading to scaled-back plans or project cancellations. I am is committed to a solutions-first approach that delivers mobility, not gridlock.
"Community-First" principle
Healthcare is a fundamental and necessary right, ensuring affordability and accessibility for all families. As taxpayers, we cannot absorb more local taxes, be it property or sales tax. Our taxes should be used responsibly to pay for healthcare, transportation infrastructure, and public education systems. We must hold our government accountable and have a voice in our communities. Specifically for our district, growth policy focuses on integrated transportation systems and business development planning that reduces congestion while protecting the district’s aesthetic and ecological health, ensuring that development does not outpace the community’s quality of life. Greenway and park development.
