On her website, Young expressed support for environmental preservation, combating domestic/sexual violence, a "livable wage" for public school employees, and affordable housing and health care. She is pro-choice.[1]

Young ran in the 2012 election for Montana House of Representatives, District 80. Young ran unopposed in the June 5 primary election and was defeated by incumbent Liz Bangerter (R) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[2][3]
