Elections
2011
Gordon was a candidate for the 2011 Democratic Party nomination for District 7 of the New Jersey General Assembly. Gordon was bracketed with Yvette Sterling in the June 7 primary, however, Sterling's candidacy was found invalid by the Secretary of State's office in late April and her name was removed from the ballot. Following that, Gordon dropped out of the race.[1] Troy Singleton and incumbent Herb Conaway advanced to the general election on November 8, 2011.[2]
With redistricting moving nine-term Republican incumbent Joseph Malone, III from the 30th to the 7th District, NJ Spotlight identified the 7th as a potential place for the GOP to pickup a seat in the Assembly.[3]
