Larson ran for re-election to the San Bernardino County Board of Education to represent Area A in California. Larson lost in the general election on November 8, 2022.
Larson also ran for election for San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools in California. Larson lost in the primary on June 7, 2022.
Larson was a candidate for an at-large seat on the Victor Valley Union High School District school board in California. Larson was defeated in the at-large general election on November 8, 2016.[1] He was defeated in the 2010, 2012, and 2014 elections. Larson previously served on the board from 2006 to 2010.

2016
Two of the five seats on the Victor Valley Union High School District Board of Education were up for at-large general election on November 8, 2016. In their bids for re-election, incumbents Rosalio Hinojos and Barbara James Dew faced two opponents: Jose Berrios and Ken Larson.[2] Dew won re-election, and Berrios won the other seat on the ballot.[3]

Funding
Larson filed an exemption form detailing he would not spend or receive more than $2,000 for this campaign. Because of this, he did not have to file additional campaign finance reports.[4][5]
2014
The election in Victor Valley featured four at-large seats up for general election on November 4, 2014. Incumbent Timothy G. Hauk and challengers Tim Norton and Penny Edmiston won election to four-year terms by defeating incumbent Rita Jackson and challengers Ricardo Flores, Randy E. Guth and Ken Larson. Newcomer Lisa A. Crosby ran unopposed and won election to a seat with an unexpired two-year term.

Funding
Candidates had to file contribution reports within 24 hours of receiving an aggregate total of $1,000 or more from a single source. The first scheduled pre-election report filing deadline was October 6, 2014. If candidates raised or spent less than $1,000 during the 2013 and 2014 calendar years, they had to file Form 470 at that time. If candidates raised or spent more during that time, they had to file Form 460 by the pre-election report filing deadline.[6]
Candidates required to file Form 460 also had to file a second pre-election report on October 23, 2014, and they had to file termination reports by December 31, 2014. If a termination report was not filed, candidates had to file a semi-annual report by February 2, 2015.[6]
Larson did not report any contributions or expenditures during the election, according to the San Bernardino County Elections Office of the Registrar of Voters.[7]
