Ken Mercer
Ken Mercer (Republican Party) was a member of the Texas State Board of Education, representing District 5. Mercer assumed office in 2007. Mercer left office on January 1, 2021.
Biography
Before his election to the board, Mercer was a member of the state's Homeland Security Council. He is also a former member of the State Republican Executive Committee.[1]

Political career
Texas State Board of Education (2007-2021)
Mercer was first elected to the board in November 2006 and took office in January 2007. He did not seek re-election in 2020.
Texas House of Representatives (2003-2005)
Mercer was elected to represent District 117 in the Texas House of Representatives in 2002 and took office in January 2003. He was unseated in the 2004 election by David McQuade Leibowitz (D).[2][3]
