Rozenbloom's website highlighted the following campaign themes:[2]

  • "Private sector jobs and small business are the economic engines that create wealth, and we need to do everything we can to improve the health of the private sector job creators."
  • "We need to support manufacturing, agriculture and other industry by creating a tax environment that encourages growth."
  • "We need to find ways to create a better learning environment, to allow our teachers to focus solely on teaching the fundamentals, and to expect positive outcomes."
  • "We have unfinished business with respect to the definition of marriage in Iowa. The process the Court used to change the Defense of Marriage Act was unconstitutional, and the result of the Supreme Court’s rejection of the law is unacceptable."

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in Iowa

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
